Two hours in the shop, working on your own bike. You'll leave knowing how to keep it clean, shifting and stopping between services. No experience needed. I show it once on a shop bike, then you do it on yours.

$65, take-home kit included. 6 riders max. Weekday evenings, 6:30–8:30pm.

What we'll cover

• Washing your bike without pushing water into the bearings

• Cleaning your suspension stanchions and seals, and when it's due for service

• Cleaning, lubing and checking your chain for wear

• Adjusting a mechanical derailleur

• Changing brake pads and bedding them in

• Changing a tire, tubes and tubeless, and fixing a flat on the trail

• A two-minute pre-ride check

• What to carry in your pack

What to bring

• Your bike, as dirty as it is

• Clothes you don't mind getting greasy

• A spare tube, if your bike runs tubes
